Harddisk Data Recovery Software

Traditional hard disk fails in a incremental manner.  If you found your hard disk is getting slower and slower, you better backup your data fast.  You can user the below software to check the hard disk health:

• Crystal Disk Info

If your hard disk cannot be recognized, or Windows said that it is not formatted, then the hard disk is failing and you need to export the raw info out:

CGSecurity - PhotoRec	The software can recover photos and other files (e.g. pdf).
DataRescue DD	If you want to dump the RAW device image (dd), in Windows, you can use this.
PassMark Software - OSFMount	To mount the RAW image in Windows, you can use this.
CCleaner - Recuva	Recover files of various types
Robocopy (and Microsoft Richcopy)	To copy files without many retry (skip bad blocks) robocopy D:\ C:\ThisIsTheTargetFolder /MIR /R:1 /W:1 R:1 retry only once W:1 Wait one second between each retry
Roadkil Unstoppable Copier	Allows you to copy files from disks with problems such as bad sectors
