OpenWRT - DNS server redirect internal network queries to internal Microsoft AD DNS server

In this design, OpenWRT is used as a main router, DHCP and DNS server.  There is one Active Directory (AD) Domain Controller (with DNS) inside the LAN.

The objective is to let OpenWRT to forward queries of internal hostnames to the AD DNS server.

1. Go to Network - DHCP and DNS server

 2. Under Local domain, enter your domain name.

3. Under DNS forwardings, follow the sample syntax to forward only internal domain queries to internal DNS server. e.g. /mylan.local/192.168.1.2
